Billing of the children’s products sector
The children’s products sector closed the year 2022 with a growth of 9%, after reaching a billing close to €1.221 billion.
In 2022, the sector continued to recover from the significant drop caused by the pandemic.
The last few years have been marked by a complex international context. Geopolitical conflicts are a risk factor, with a strong impact on energy markets and global economic activity, affecting national economies. To this situation, we must add the complications arising from low birth rates in our country.
As recovery is achieved, moderate growth of the sector is expected.
A growth of 3% in 2023 and 2.8% in 2024 is estimated.
The annual inflation rate, which remained high in 2022 at 5.7%, is reduced to 3.1% in 2023 and is expected to reach 3.5% in 2024.
In 2022, employment in the labour market increased by 3.6%.

Exports to other countries account for 37%, with the most relevant countries being: the United Kingdom, Mexico, the United States, Colombia, and the United Arab Emirates.
National Billing
The domestic market, which had been losing weight in recent years, experienced a slight rebound in 2022, reaching 48% of billing, mainly due to the increase in sales of children’s fashion.
Online Channel
The online channel remains a strategic digital element for companies, to achieve sales and positioning objectives.
In 2022, the online channel accounted for 14% of sector sales, while its share was 16% in 2021. A recovery of physical store sales is observed, but the importance of online sales is maintained.
