The international fair of the childhood universe, which will be held from 25 to 27 January at Feria Valencia, already registers 582 foreign buyers from 42 countries and consolidates the event as a business and internationalisation platform for over 450 exhibiting brands.
BabyKid Spain + FIMI, the leading international Spanish fair in the sector, consolidates its commitment to internationalisation and confirms the interest of major foreign markets in being present at the event co-organised by Feria Valencia and the sector association ASEPRI. In fact, as of today, a total of 582 foreign buyers from 42 countries across five continents are already registered.
These include both professionals registered independently and VIP buyers invited through various reverse missions and endorsements promoted by ICEX, IVACE Internacional, Feria Valencia, and ASEPRI. Professionals with high purchasing power looking for the latest trends and innovations in the new collections at the sector’s reference fair, unique for uniting childcare and fashion.
Among the markets of origin, it stands out that 73% of the buyers come from Europe, especially Italy, Portugal, and countries in the Mediterranean region. Additionally, professionals from Latin America (36%), the Middle East (33%), and Africa with 18% will also gather at Feria Valencia. More specifically, buyers from markets such as Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Ivory Coast, Costa Rica, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, El Salvador, USA, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Iraq, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lebanon, Morocco, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Romania, Uruguay, and Venezuela are highlighted.
Regarding their profile, the common denominator is their high purchasing power and endorsement. For example, from Armenia, Reyma and Kids Group, major operators in the market with eight stores, will be at BKS + FIMI; from Latin America, Tia Mía, with four stores in Guatemala, Mikomar, with 12 stores in Uruguay, Bebelandia, one of the main operators in Ecuador with 30 stores, and for the first time, the large department store established throughout Latin America Almacenes Siman.
Markets with great potential such as Poland, Bulgaria, and Romania also stand out. In this regard, the Bulgarian store chains Comsed and Bokal will visit the fair, a type of store chain that accounts for 20% of foreign buyers at the next edition of BabyKid Spain + FIMI, among which also stand out the Italian brands Ideal Bimbo, IO Bimbo, and Iper Bimbo.
On the other hand, regarding the accredited international press at the fair and thanks to the support of ICEX, the best specialised media in the childhood products sector have confirmed their attendance, which will mean great exposure for BKS + FIMI outside Spain. Thus, from Germany, the media Luna Magazine and Childhood Business, a magazine specialised in the children’s world, will be present; from Italy, the publication ELLE Kids; from Portugal, the specialised magazine Portugal Textil; from the UK, the media CWB, while Turkey and the USA will cover the fair thanks to their magazines Baby and Kid Store and Kids a la Mode.
“Buyers and media visit us because our event is unique in the world. There is no other fair that generates these synergies in the childhood universe sector: childcare, children’s and youth fashion, footwear, accessories, toys, cosmetics… All the offerings in one space,” assures Alicia Gimeno, director of this event. “Foreign clients come to BKS + FIMI for its great commercial showcase and, year after year, they highlight their interest in our event”, reveals the director of BabyKid Spain + FIMI. “Expectations are high, as we also anticipate the visit of national buyers coming from all communities in the country”, she points out.
In fact, the confirmed international buyers are joined by thousands of national buyers and professionals who want to see trends and place orders during the fair. Professionals in search of products to stock up for the new seasons, commercial agents connecting manufacturers and endorsing retail points, national press, or even influencers in the childhood universe.
In addition to the commercial aspect, this year parallel activities that BKS + FIMI is preparing will be added, such as FIMI Kids Fashion Week or the BabyKid Childcare Week, an exclusive childcare runway that returns after its debut at last year’s edition of BKS + FIMI.
Overall, BKS + FIMI, the fair co-organised by Feria Valencia and ASEPRI (Spanish Association of Childhood Products), consolidates itself as the reference meeting point for professionals in the childhood universe in Europe.
